The Bourbon Trail Kentucky

Rich, amber-coloured bourbon, a kind of whisky distilled almost exclusively in Kentucky distilleries, is the intoxicating product of native corn and local limestone-rich springs. About 95 per cent of the world’s bourbon comes from Kentucky, each brand claiming its own unique taste, defined mostly by the charred white-oak barrels where it is aged for a minimum of two years.

The Hay-Adams Hotel Washington D.C.

The Hay-Adams has, hands down, the best White House views of any Washington, D.C. property (in fact, its rooftop is a local favorite for private events). Housed in an Italian Renaissance-style mansion that was built in 1928, the hotel is genteel and dignified in the best sense. It’s grand enough for political bigwigs, yet welcoming and down-to-earth for travelers seeking an impeccably elegant base for their visit.

Las Ventanas al Paraiso

As its name implies, Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort, is a window to Paradise. The desert beach resort in Los Cabos captivates its guests with expansive suites, a world-class spa, inspired cuisine and an intoxicating ambiance.

Visiting Montauk New York

If there’s no traffic then it’s about a two and a half hour drive from Manhattan to Montauk. And to everybody going there, it’s well worth the trip. Montauk is on the easternmost part of the South Fork of Long Island, New York. It’s where New York State Route 27 ends. This can be especially true if you decide to take a detour or two along the way. Although the beaches are beautiful, and the fishing is fine (Montauk’s the fishing capital of the world), a lot of people seem to end up, at one time or another, at the Montauk Point Lighthouse.

Marfa Texas

In 1971, minimalist artist Donald Judd headed west from New York in search of a place to create and permanently house his increasingly large-form sculptures. West of the Pecos, he found the quiet town of Marfa and its Fort D. A. Russell, a decommissioned military base, where he created the Chinati Foundation, one of the country’s finest exhibition spaces for contemporary installation art.
