The Greenwich Hotel is located in Tribeca one of New York City’s most under-the-radar neighborhoods, beloved by locals and plugged-in visitors who appreciate its proximity to SoHo, Greenwich Village and Wall Street, but love being away from the tourist troves. One of the area’s biggest spokespersons is Robert De Niro, who spearheaded the Greenwich Hotel, a bold statement of handcrafted design.
The work of numerous artisans from around the world is woven into the interiors, which feature such design details as leaded glass windows, exposed oak beams and antique wood floors. A mix of styles, from Tibet to Morocco, is featured in guest rooms, and some have working fireplaces. The hotel’s gorgeous library, leafy courtyard, spa and pool are open only to guests, making even first-time visitors feel like they are bona fide Tribeca residents.

Dining
Locanda Verde is a casual neighborhood taverna in TriBeCa serving Chef Andrew Carmellini’s urban Italian cooking.
The bustling corner restaurant has been welcoming New Yorkers and travelers morning, noon and night since 2009 with a warm and comfortable atmosphere, leisurely Italian spirit and heartfelt cooking.
Chef Carmellini’s menu is as comforting as the space, featuring favorites like Lamb Meatball Sliders with Caprino & Cucumber or Fire-Roasted Garlic Chicken for Two and seasonal specialties like Prosciutto-Wrapped Trout with Corn Ragu, Chanterelles & Mustard Jus. Pastry Chef Kierin Baldwin, one of the city’s best-loved pastry chefs, is in charge of desserts. The bakery counter is open all day offering inspired baked goods, like Fig-Gorgonzola Scones, Gloria Muffins with citrus olive oil, pine nuts and grappa raisins and Illy coffee. The dessert menu includes Maple Semifreddo with Prosciutto Pecans, Chocolate Sourdough Tortino with Birra Gelato and house housemade gelati and sorbetti.
Locanda Verde’s wine list features reasonably priced bottles from every region in Italy, specialty house cocktails and craft beer on tap.
A second dining room with entry through the back of the restaurant is appointed in Italian country-style with a working fireplace and available for hosting private events.
Shibui Spa
is a space to unwind, cleanse body and mind, and heal.
Our philosophy is one of balance—balance between the traditional and the modern and between nature and city. To enter Shibui is to be embraced by wood, water, and stone—much of it with a storied past—and our treatments are rooted in the same simplicity and reverence for nature. The products we use are plant-based and, whenever possible, organic. Our practitioners, who are experts in ancient as well as contemporary healing techniques, approach their craft as art—with devotion, dedication, and compassion.
