The market town of Huntly makes a good base to enjoy Aberdeenshire and nearby Huntly Castle is well worth a visit. Enjoying a wonderful setting where rivers Bogie and Deveron and meet the castle once sheltered Robert the Bruce but was a baronial residence for over five hundred year. The original building was built 1000 years ago and was the ancestral home to the clan Gordon. Guided tours are available.
