The unbridled beauty of the Gila River Indian Community outside Phoenix, Arizona, found its match in the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa. Just 11 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, wild horses still roam free on the reservation’s 372,000 acres.
The resort grew from a partnership between Starwood Hotels Worldwide and Arizona’s Gila River Indian Community. It opened in October 2002 as a sanctuary for modern-day business and recreation steeped in the hospitality and heritage of the Pima and Maricopa tribes.
